Mickey Demos, Jr. began boxing at the age of 8. He was privately trained by his father, Dr. Mickey Demos, Sr. who was inducted in the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame for boxing and serves as ring physician for the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team. As an amateur, Mickey Jr. won 7 State of Florida titles including 4 consecutive Junior Olympic Gold Medals. He frequently represented Florida on the national level. He also trained as a guest of the U.S. Olympic Training Center and as guest of The U.S. Air Force Academy (National Collegiate Boxing Champions) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mickey began teaching boxing while still competing at the age of 15. He has 29 years of experience teaching pro’s as well as amateurs. He teaches power lifting as well as boxing. He was voted Best Trainer of 2009 by the Miami New Times. His client list has included pro fighter Gus Rahming, Jr., developer Eddie Easton, and Megan Glaros (CBS News).
Presently he is pursuing a mission to bring back that great sport of college boxing as being the boxing coach of the University of Miami.
Mickey is also an attorney, a home-schooling specialist and an accomplished extreme athlete with over 1000 skydives under his belt.
Mickey’s philosophy is simple: he pushes his clients past their limits. However, he accomplishes this in a professional manner so that the clients don’t even realize how hard they are working. He is in the gym business primarily because he likes people and enjoys interacting with them while helping them achieve their goals.
